Elemetal

Elemetal started as a Delft University spin-off offering a solution for harvesting zinc and copper from waste.
Through out the years several installations where build from proof of concept, scale-up and production plants.
Joost Verkamman engineered and build electrical cabinets and field installations over the clients several projects. Further more the part of building constructions like the column skids and process container and other test setups where build.

Client Elemetal required electrical control ass well as power distribution for a project involving zinc and copper recycling out off residue originating from waste incineration.

Big race

be a race jockey

Big race is a final object of an interactive exhibit at museum “Irish National Stud & Gardens”, visitors take place on one of the 8 artificial horses where they compete in a race simulator. Joost Verkamman developed and build the controls cabinet for the moving part off this exhibit. The development involved power distribution, implementation off safety features, testing and implementing the installation in Kildare, Ireland.

Prototyping Movitas

the electric minibus

In this unique project Joost Verkamman was responsible for the design and build of the 24V systems and its layout.
This involved aligning different sub systems to co operate, finding suppliers, middle gate solutions, developing and building the electrical definition in a matter that makes future series production possible. The results of the small jet dedicated team have taken shape in two prototypes, the first one debuting on busworld conference 2020,

Evorsa superslide

For a large event an idea was harnessed to have a mobile +50m lenght slide with spectacular end. This wet slide should be used by the visitors and supervised by instructors. Above all the slide should be non permanent, pop-up style.
Aligning safety homologation while keeping investors interested was key in this project. Making use of knowledge designing powered inflatables and teaming up with a partner expereinced in event scaffolding resulted in a design combining the best of both worlds.

Reeq

Range Extended Electrical Quad.
The development of Reeq’s their projects required both prototyping and wire harness building. The fast pace of the iterations of the various products of the company required proto build ready for series and on the fly solution.
Schematics where build with IGE+XAO See electrical.

Inflatable couch

This prototype was designed for a no nonsense outdoor adventure organization operating across Europe.
The inflatable should have an industrial tough appearance as well as being durable for outdoor use and abuse by school groups. Again previous experince in engineering inflatables was used to shape the idea.

Exibit quickstream

This short project with relatively short list of requirements resulted in the use of a reliable budget PLC where Joost Verkamman tackled all the tasks from electrical design, programming and building the electric part of the exhibit, showcasing the Wavin quickstream roof drain.
